Welcome to the Cavy Chat FAQ. We hope this page will help you understand how to use the Chat Room. If you still have questions after reading the FAQ, please feel free to ask me.

Chatters that have @ signs before their names are Chat Room Moderators. They kick and ban offending chatters. You will receive one warning before being kicked and possibly banned. You will be kicked off the chat room and possibly banned if you swear, flood the chat room, are rude, or constantly talk gibberish, such as posting $%(#*$%#@ a lot.

You are automatically kicked off the chat room if you flood it with lots of posts. If you swear, are rude, or constantly talk gibberish, you will be given one warning to stop. If you continue to misbehave, you will be kicked out of the room and possibly banned, based on the degree of your misbehaving. We want the chat room to be a fun and informative place for all.

You can leave the chat room at any time by going to another page in your browser or closing the browser window. When you leave a message will be sent to the room saying you've left.

When you enter the chat room with your nickname it will check to see if the name is already registered. The member database for the chat room is separate from the Cavy Forum database and Free E-Mail database. If your name has been registered by someone else in the Chat Room database, your name will be changed to Guest1042. You can change your name by typing /nick yourname with yourname where you put the name you want. If the name you want is taken you can always add [CG] to the end of it. CG stands for Cavies Galore and is an easy way to keep the name you want.

When you've found a name that you want you can register it. Registering your name allows on you to use the name. To register you name, type /nickserv register password e-mail. Just replace password with the password you want and e-mail with your e-mail address.

When you've registered your name you will need to identify yourself by typing /nickserv identify password. Just replace password with your registered password.

Next to the text box to chat are a bunch of multicolored boxes. By clicking on one of the colored boxes and then typing your message the text will be that color. You can outline your text by selecting one color, which becomes the text color, and then another color, which becomes the color that outlines your text.
